Stephen Barns, AWMA®, AIF®
For Stephen Barns, the most rewarding part of being a financial advisor is helping clients put the puzzle pieces together to form a complete financial picture. In addition to offering guidance on investing, budgeting, taxes, and estate planning, Stephen is a recognized subject matter expert in the fields of Social Security and Medicare. He is the author of the book “Your Retirement Countdown,” and is regularly invited to teach on these topics at events across the country.
Stephen holds his Series 66 securities registration as well as Arkansas life and health insurance licenses. He also carries the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA®) designation from the College for Financial Planning and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation from the ANSI National Accreditation Board.
Before joining Prime Capital Financial, Stephen served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division. He earned his Airborne Wings from the U.S. Army Parachute Infantry School and deployed to northern Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Outside of work, Stephen enjoys spending time with his family at their camp on the Ouachita River and playing bass guitar with his band around Little Rock. He also devotes time to restoring his family’s historic home in downtown Little Rock, which he doesn’t enjoy as much.
Stephen’s wife, Candace, is the elementary art teacher at Don Roberts Elementary. Their son, Cosmo, is a junior at UCA majoring in computer science, while their daughter, Ellie, is a budding socialite at Pinnacle View Middle School.
